Subject: "Wherever there is great fear, there is great opportunity."

Hi {Partner First Name},

Fear vs. opportunity is a concept that has always interested me. Our industry is all too often riddled with trepidation about external factors like inflation and interest rate hikes. Outside factors will always impact our lives (2020, anyone?) but how do we overcome our fears when we know interest rates will continue to rise? Let’s examine our fears and uncover the associated opportunities:

Fear: Rising Interest Rates Will Cost Business and Income.

Opportunity: Rates Impact Everyone—So Now’s The Time to Differentiate Yourself.

Our future success hinges on our ability to enact a different mindset, strategy, and tactics than what worked in the past. Start by examining how effectively you’re marketing yourself. According to our research, 70 percent of purchase borrowers work with realtors from within their sphere of influence—so we must stand out. Our goal should be to uncover ways to increase the quality—and quantity—of interactions with the people who know us best.

Fear: The Refi-Market Will Fall Off a Cliff This Year.

Opportunity: The Purchase Market Will Be the Hottest it’s Been Since 1983.

Following rampant uncertainty that permeated throughout 2020, the real estate market has rebounded to pre-pandemic levels. Overall, the MBA forecasts that nearly 7 million homes will hit the market in 2021 which, if that happens, will account for $1.54 trillion in purchase volume sales. This would be the largest increase in annual purchase growth since 1983.

2021 could be your best year ever—but only if you take the necessary steps to prime yourself for success right now. So, what’s left to fear? Seize the opportunity before you and don’t look back.

Subject: Disruption creates opportunities.

Hello {Partner First Name},

On August 25, 2020, the FHFA directed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to delay the implementation date of the Adverse Market Refinance Fee from September 1, 2020 to December 1, 2020.

We are in a moment of turmoil in our industry.

The good news is that any sort of disruption, good or bad, creates opportunities if you move quickly.

The refinance boom has created a disruption.

  • Loan officers are busy with large loan volumes and not communicating effectively with their realtor partners.

  • The rapidly growing industry has many new professionals seeking opportunities in the mortgage and real estate space.

Where are the opportunities?

This is the perfect opportunity to build relationships with loan officers that offer consistent communication, become a mentor to someone new in the industry, or build your dream team.

One incredibly effective way we build relationships here at Princeton Mortgage is through online branding on social media.

Build your FLOW system to your own sphere of influence by putting yourselves out there.

It’s important to remember that people follow your social media for YOU.

Make sure to include your own commentary and thoughts in everything that you post, including other sources of information. You have to add something to make it relevant, interesting, and authentic to get your audience’s attention.

Videos are a powerful way to accomplish this. Your audience will get to hear and see your thoughts and feelings.

Habits are routines that set you free.

Hello {Partner First Name},

“People do not decide their future. They decide their habits and their habits decide their futures.” – F.M. Alexander

Simply put, habits are routines that set you free. They can form futures and drive outcomes.

I constantly ask myself, "Are my habits producing the outcomes I want?"

Let’s talk about prospecting.

It’s human nature to find other things to make you feel productive and too busy to prospect.

If the prospecting is not built into your daily habits, it will not get done.

Just 10-12 hours of prospecting per week can change your life.

Remember: your system is perfectly designed to give you the results you are getting.

What habits are you going to change to get different results going forward?

Check out this video to learn more about creating prospecting habits.
